Current Projects

I’m currently working on a handful of writing projects, each with a different time horizon for completion:

  • A poetry collection about the effects of incarceration on families.

  • A collection of short stories set in a fictional town in Louisiana in the early 21st century.

  • A novel that focuses on multiple generations of two families whose lives span continents—and intersect at a few pivotal moments over the course of many decades.

  • Research related to art that provokes science.

When do I write? Because my first focus is my professional work in university collaborations and partnerships, I write and conduct my writing administration on Wednesday evenings and one weekend morning. These times are small luxuries that I have carved out for myself, and this habit is quite close to the pattern that allowed me to write my prior three books and other publications.

I love corresponding and strive to answer messages during my writing blocks. If these topics are of interest to you, please write and let me know.
